INAUGURATION OF LACTATION ROOM

The National Banking and Insurance Commission already has its first breastfeeding room, intended for mothers who enjoy this period, and who work in this entity, the new space was inaugurated by the Presiding Commissioner, Marcio Sierra Discua, and the Owner Commissioner Alba Luz Valladares, with the accompaniment of the head of the Secretary of Women’s Affairs (SEMUJER), Doris García and officials of the supervisory body of the Honduran Financial System.

In her message, Commissioner Valladares stressed that this initiative, which will benefit mothers and future mothers, employees and officials of the CNBS, demonstrates the commitment of the authorities of this entity to guarantee the inalienable rights of women mothers and children to access the nutritional benefits provided by breast milk.

For her part, the head of SEMUJER, Doris García, congratulated President Sierra for the firm support he gives to the Gender Committee of the CNBS, which organized the event and works to promote and guarantee the rights of women, who work in the different technical units of this institution.

This room for breastfeeding women is a pioneer within the CNBS and among the entities that make up the Economic Cabinet, but it is the fourth within the institutions that make up the government of President Xiomara Castro.

Those attending the event learned about the privacy of the room, which meets the requirements for the process of extraction and optimal conservation of breast milk, this room dignifies the need of breastfeeding mothers, when they join their daily work, and reconciles work and maternal functions, in addition to strengthening the essential bond of mothers with their breastfeeding children.

The comrades invited to the event, who are currently breastfeeding and pregnant, thanked the Commissioners for the opening of this important room that will benefit them greatly.
