1 de November de 2024On September 12, 2024, the National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS) brought together more than eighty attendees, including the highest authorities of the CNBS, the Secretary of State in the Office of Women’s Affairs (SEMUJER), Doris García, the Resident Representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Honduras, Dr. María José Jarquín, and other representatives of that Agency, executives of the supervised institutions and representatives of strategic allies, to present the 2024 Gender Gap Report in the Financial System.
The Commissioner President of the CNBS, Engineer Marcio Sierra Discua, reaffirmed the commitment of this Regulator to continue promoting financial inclusion in the country, to reduce gender gaps in access to and use of financial products and services, without neglecting financial stability; a purpose aimed at achieving a fairer country with greater opportunities for all without gender distinction, aiming at a better integral, inclusive and sustainable economic development.
For her part, Dr. María José Jarquín, IDB Resident Representative in Honduras, addressed a message to all those present about the work carried out by the Commission, in collaboration with different institutions, in order to promote financial inclusion with a gender perspective and close the existing gaps between men and women.
The presentation of the Report was in charge of Dr. Sebastián Auguste, IDB Consultant, who made a general analysis of the existing financial gaps in terms of deposits and credits, as well as remittances and innovative means of payment.
